What is an Open Access Workshop?
Open Access Workshops are two hour sessions in which you can practice your throwing and turning skills on the wheel. You will also have access to a range of slips and glazes. These session are not taught, so in order to book on, you must have a good ability in throwing and be able to work completely independently. Materials and firings are charged at an additional cost of £5 per kg.
Who can book these sessions?
Students who have completed 8 weeks of throwing classes or the equivalent at another studio.
What does the price of this workshop include?
You will have access to Rachel Cox's modern and light filled studio with the use of a Shimpo Wheel. You will be provided with all the necessary throwing tools and an apron. Your pottery will be weighed before firing where materials are charged at an additional fee of £5.00 per kilo. This price covers the cost of the clay, glaze and two firings in the kiln. There is a bike lock up and private parking onsite available to students.
What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Group sizes are small and booked to capacity so please ensure that you are able to attend your workshop on the date you have booked. Should you need to change the date of your workshop, it will be possible to reschedule up to 7 days before. It will not be possible to reschedule a workshop beyond 7 days prior to the date and a refund cannot be offered. In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled by Rachel Cox due to unforeseen circumstances that are out of the studio's control, the workshop will be rescheduled at a later date or a refund will be offered if the rescheduled date is not suitable.
